Erin Ann Thomas

About the Author

Erin Ann Thomas grew up in Orem, Utah and received a B.A. in Fine Art and a Master’s Certificate in TESOL at Brigham Young University. After graduation, she moved to Northern Virginia where she received her MFA in Creative Nonfiction at George Mason University in 2008. While pursuing this degree, she taught ESL at Carlos Rosario Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. She later taught ESL, English, and Creative Writing at Northern Virginia Community College until accepting a position at IBM as a technical editor. After eight years of living on the East Coast, Erin decided to return to the West and currently lives in Palo Alto, California.

Coal in Our Veins: A Personal Journey is her first book publication. She has published poetry in Kalliope, an essay in Dialogue, and poetry and essays in other literary journals and newspapers.
